Peter Labeaud - Chances

9/1/2020

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

It's 2020, and she wants to go and party while Chances by Peter Labeaud is on repeat!

Produced by Cyht, Peter delivers his message in Chances with a Kendrick-inspired flow that constantly switches up, keeping the listener on their toes.

Growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana, Peter Labeaud didn't start writing seriously until his senior year of high school. His passion for music stems from his early childhood when he was intrigued by how an artist could lay down a story within a three-minute time frame, which could then travel through time and across the world. When Peter started looking around, he realised that there was more for him in the world and that he could change lives by expressing how he felt through his mic. He prompts the listener to take more chances in their everyday lives because you never know if you'll get another chance to chase what you want.

Written by Peter Labeaud and Mehkai Orion, Chances tells the story of wanting to be with someone but being too afraid to approach them. On the flip side, the person in question is also trying to take a chance on meeting someone new but is haunted by their attachment to their significant other. Essentially, they're fighting between letting go or staying to work things out.

Finishing off with a hint of an Aaliyah sample with her track ‘Are you that somebody?’ Chances reveal the constant cat-and-mouse chase between the two individuals while exposing the thought process of the chaser who is consciously aware that tomorrow isn't promised, in a nutshell, Chances is all about taking a chance towards someone before it's too late.

With a library of music, it's no surprise that Peter Labeaud has a plethora of tracks available for listening to; you'll want to check out his other track, "There's Gotta Be More," which is well worth a listen.
