John Tucker - The Ways (Remix - Lauren McClinton)

12/3/2020

COLUMBUS, OHIO

Since hearing The Ways (remix), IYCM cannot get John Tucker out of their head. Partnering with Lauren McClinton on the remix, both artists expose the inner dialogue of loss and bring it to the surface, where it is smoothly vocalised over a soft Reggaeton-inspired tempo.

The echos of sadness and the buoyant tempo produced and mixed by John Tucker, provide a focal point of the complexities experienced after a loss of a relationship and the burden of lingering feelings, which is demonstrated perfectly through John Tucker and Lauren McClinton's ability to explore the introspective emotions identified through their songwriting.

"Losing someone you love sucks, and sometimes you just wanna tell them how bad it sucks, but you can’t. That’s what this is about. Whether that be romantic, platonic, or family." - John Tucker

The Ways (remix) dives into "the thoughts that come to mind after the break up has happened, along with all of the regrets. That’s when the wondering starts to set in, like what could’ve been?".

"Loss is one of the most common feelings we experience as humans, next to love itself. So I hope people can relate and hear a voice that understands what they’re going through and maybe feel some comfort. But it’s also a super fun, upbeat track for the club, where you can dance your heartbreak away." - John Tucker

Since his early childhood, John Tucker has been immersed in the music scene, which began at his family Church in his home state, Columbus, Ohio. Leading praise and worship alongside his uncle, he eventually took a leap of faith and decided to use his gift for the world.

Through this experience, he found his current home base in Nashville, TN, where he was able to develop as an artist through his collaborations with other artists, and the nourishing community Nashville provides.

Currently inspired by Solange, he explains how her last two projects impacted him in two different ways. "The consensus is that I can be black and weird in my music and that it’s okay. It helps to know that there is an audience out there for music and minds like mine".

With that being said, John aims to collaborate with Jhené Aiko, SZA and Skip Marley and plans to release more music which will ultimately lead up to his *debut EP* and a live show in Nashville

So to our readers in the Ville, stay tuned and be sure to follow the socials and stay in the loop with John Tucker.
