2019 RECAP

29/12/2019

This year we heard from various talented artists and producers from cities worldwide, including Melbourne (Burn City), Nashville and East Saint Louis, and it is safe to say that each artist and producer featured on IYC has unquestionably set the bar high.

IYCM was privileged enough to witness the EP launch of Intermission by rapper Nomad, who delivered an energetic show demonstrating his ability to draw in the crowds with his message AND flow. His track Destined, produced by IconicBeats, took our listeners through an honest conversation about society, its current structure, and the threat of unresolved systematic issues.

Producer Eleftherios gave us a treat when he launched his first EP titled Radio Tower '19, which played on the theme of a radio station that featured tracks from talented artists straight outta Burn City!
This project showcased what Burn City has to offer to the eager listeners of the world.

Artists such as Agung Mango, R.L. King and FFXRK demonstrated Melbourne's versatility with their 2019 releases. From the HYPE hip-hop culture in Melbourne's underground to the smooth, soulful melody that graces the city, we could switch from turning up to turning down in a matter of seconds with Agung Mango's - TOUGHSKIN, R.L. Kings - 11:11 and FFXRK - Forget Him.

It is evident that Burn City delivered the goods with the thriving talent that floated to the surface this year; however, we also had the advantage of covering artists such as Hello My Name Is Lana from East Saint Louis with her upbeat summer track Rub Up On Me, and Bryant Taylorr from Nashville, who delivered a melodic spell to listeners on his track Communicating.

Overall, 2019 was just a preview, meaning 2020 will be a whole movie, so enjoy your New Year's celebrations wherever you are and stay posted for the drop as IYC continues to deliver the goods.

FFXRK - Forget Him

22/12/2019

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

Straight outta the Philippines but residing in Melbourne, FFXRK gives the impression that this is about to turn into a PARTYNEXTDOOR-inspired song from the moment the tempo kicks in, and in a way, it almost does; however, FFXRK brings his own touch of audible nostalgia to Forget Him.

FFXRK showcases his light and mellow vocals on Forget Him while he sings, "She called me right after the party", swindling listeners into abstraction.

Produced by FFXRK & AJ SOUNDS, this track is about the invitation of forgiveness, acceptance and picking up where intimacy was left behind.
Despite the female character in the track appearing intoxicated, lost and wandering, FFXRK is set to make amends even just for a night so that all things will be forgotten, especially him.

Forget Him is a continuation of a previous song that FFXRK has released called "Treated Bad”, which tells the story of a relationship that ended after six years with his partner at the time, who had been previously physically abused and ultimately would seek guidance, reconciliation and protection from him.
There is NO DOUBT that the vibe of Forget Him adequately shows passion, intimacy and soul just through the song itself and the known energy that the artist brings to the table for those that know him; however, the video trailer displays something much deeper that sparks love and lust in one picture.

Obsessed is an understatement but that's how we feel about this song and the story it shares. The reason why music speaks volumes is due to the vulnerability that is expressed and, in turn, transferred from pen and paper to the mic. Simply put, when words fail, music speaks.

Forget Him is streaming on all platforms now, so you can add it to your ROTATION ASAP.

Bryant Taylorr - Communicating

15/12/2019

NASHVILLE, TN

Tennessee might only have a few lakes and rivers, but it is deeply swimming with talent, particularly in MUSIC CITY - Nashville with dope artist Bryant Taylorr.

Bryant Taylorr
brings an out-of-world type of sound to the table with his track Communicating, positioning listeners in a melodically comforting trance-like head space.

Bryant Taylorr's voice is rich in depth as it echoes through the track, as he sings about arriving at a point where two individuals finally communicate.

Immaculately produced by A.B., Communicating showcases Bryant Taylorr's vocal capabilities as we witness the playfulness of his voice against the beat, exuding authentically WAVY vibes.

This is an artist you want to watch out for in the upcoming year as he delivers a unique sound that is bound to catch on.

If you enjoy Communicating, then you'll enjoy Song to Song featuring Xanzanxan.
It's a staple on our rotation and will be essential to your rotation.

Peep both Communicating and Song to Song up top and below and spread the love by sharing the music with other listeners who have great taste.
